Because of their job description, plant-sucking bugs are prone to attack. Full with the sap they need to survive, these bugs need protection as they are attractive to larger insects. As an exchange of services, plant-sucking bugs will provide ample honeydew for the much needed protection. Ants are most often the first attracted to the honeydew and are therefore the most prevelant guards of plant-sucking bugs.
