F is for...Figeater

Home

The green June beetle is often referred to as a 'figeater' because of its alleged partiality for figs. These insects quite active during the daytime, often reaching very high flying speeds during the summer. The larvae of these 'figeaters' feed on plant materials such as leaves and decayed wood.
