Back to Cassie and Caroline

This flat bark bug (Aradus depressus) is nearly impossible to see. This name fits it well because it feeds on fungus growing upon tree bark. It has the ability to look as if it is covered in fungus, and therefore blends in very well with the bark of the tree. It also drops to the ground into leaf covering when frightened or threatened however, where it is also able to blend in well with its surroundings.
