Crickets come in many shades of browns and are very good when it comes to escaping predators due to camouflage and their means of a quick getaway. They are slender and delicate insects that run for cover when scared and are good at escaping best by slipping through tangled fallen stems, leaves, and grasses. The smooth finish on a cricket’s body enables them a “slippery” getaway.
