Though not an insect, the Australian Red Back spider has unique mating habits. The female (shown here dancing with a male) has a black stripe on her back. After an elaborate dance, Red Back spiders will eventually consummate however, one factor comes into play. Many times the male is eaten as a snack for the future mother of his children or wrapped up in a silky tomb to later be eaten. Source:The Dating Game Meets Survivor.
