Zootermopsis angusticollis, known commonly as Pacific dampwood termites, are found only in the Western United States. These termites can inflict damage to buildings and wooden structures that have damp or rotten wood. Dampwood termites form colonies that consist of thousands of individuals. When these termites emerge from wet wood, they sometimes infest dry wood. Zootermopsis angusticollis are 3/4 to 1 inch long. |
