Pavement
ants are one of the most common ants that invade homes. They are black or
dark brown in color. Pavement ants get their name from usually being seen
on pavement and concrete. They are foragers who, upon finding food, secrete
a hormone that attracts other ants to the site. The ants then carry the
food back to their colony. This can be a problem when pavement ants enter
homes and intrude upon food or counter tops.
