In the book, Over in the Garden, by Jennifer Ward, mom insects and their children(larvae) enjoy various activities from morning to night.

Larvae are baby insects. This part of their life involves a lot of eating. Eventually the larva changes. Some larva change into flies. Some change to dragonflies, and some change to wasps.
