In the book Jazper, by Richard Egielski, a special little insect
named Jaz learns how to change himself into various different shapes,
which he then must use to protect himself from the 5 mean moths
for whom he is house sitting. Moths really are not mean. Many are beneficial to humans. In history some were used for medicinal purposes. Today, moths pollinate many different types of plants, especially those that bloom at night. Moths also produce silk. In China and other silk-producing countries, people carefully unravel the moths cocoons and weave several strands of silk together to make a thread. Information from: |
