In the book Here Come the Killer Bees,
Laurence Pringle, tells a tale of the killer bees'
journey through Africa and to Brazil and the trouble they cause along
the way. The killer bee originated in Africa, spread to Brazil and the U.S., causing much concern. Killer bees, which are hard to tell apart from other bees except for their slightly smaller size, love to live in cities. They nest in places like cracks or hollow areas in the walls of buildings where there is a lot of human contact, and potential attacks. They became known as killer bees because, although the poison in their stings is the same as a honeybees', they have been found to be more aggressive and more likely to sting. Information from: |
