Are you a Butterfly?

In the story Are you a Butterfly? the author, Judy Allen, take the readers through the life of a butterfly from egg to adult.

Most people recognize butterflies as the insects with the scaly, vibrant, and beautiful wings. This is all true but there is more to the butterfly. Most adult butterflies feed on nectar. Their mouth is a long tube called a coiled proboscis, and their heads have lots of muscles that help them suck up the nectar. Butterflies are also widely collected, with some rare species costing as much as $2,000 to buy. But butterfly collecting, especially of the rare species, has driven many beautiful species to the brink of extinction. Now rare species collecting is mostly illegal.
