U is for Urbanus Proteus, otherwise known as a long-tailed skipper. Skippers are relatives of butterlies and moths that have long antannae with little hooks on the tips. At rest, their front and hind wings are held at different angles. They get the name long tailed due to the tails that extend from their hind wings. You can most likely find a Urbanus Proteus near the bottom of the mountains in an open field or garden. | ||
