The Great Spreadwing is a part of the damselfly family and is closely related to dragonflies. The great spreadwing's habitat is mainly slow moving streams. After mating, the female lays her eggs in woody plants overhanging water. The males tend to be more colorful than the females, with a yellow tone, while the females are darker in color.
