The Eastern Tent Caterpillar is a clever chap. He finds a good branch to make his home on and builds a tent there. Once he is finished with that, he stays out all night long to look for food. He spends the day sleeping in his tent protected from his enemies. If he stays around for too long he can cause a tree to lose many of its leaves and eventually even kill it. The best way to get rid of him is to cut open the tent during the day and pick him out.
