According to the book Insect Fact and Folklore, people in Bali often eat dragonflies. They catch them by placing a sticky saplike goo on the tips of sticks and then walking through rice fields.

They then break off the wings and fry the bodies in coconut oil with various vegetables and spices.

Dragonflies and damselflies make up the order Odonata. Dragonflies are very useful insects. They are predators of the lowly blood sucking mosquitoes we all hate. They are extremely nimble flyers with big teeth (odo=big teeth) for eating small insects.
