Y is for... Yucca Moths

yucca moths
Yucca moths are one of the most rare moths in existence. Some of the reasons they're so rare is because they're nocturnal and are extremely small (wingspan of barely an inch). They belong to the Tegeticula genus which only has three species in it. These moths are found only on the west coast of California and Ontario. Yucca moths feed on the developing seeds of yucca plants.
