Their name is akin to an obselet Swedish word varbulde meaning "a boil." Ox warbles are unpleasant internal parasites of cattle. Their are two species in North America alone: the heel fly and the bomb fly. Both female of the species lay their eggs on the lower belly or the legs of a cow |
