Often
called the figeater, this beetle feeds on many plants, stems, leaves and
roots, Common in the south, adults damage apricots, figs, grapes, melons, and other fleshy fruits. Adults fly in large numbers and buzz like bumblebees. Larvae are found in soil or manure, whichever one they please. |
