love bug
The love bug is a species of the march fly that are commonly found in the Gulf States. Huge swarms of love bugs may occur during mating season (usually in the months of May and/or September). Cars that happen to be driving through these big swarms can easily become completely covered by them. Sometimes the swarms can be so bad that the bugs may clog the radiator of the car.
