firefly
Fireflies hide during the day and come out at night. They light up their abdomans with a chemical called luciferin, which is stored in their cells. Fireflies light up their abdomans, not just to look cool, but to also attract a mate. The male firefly will flash his abdoman first. When a female sees a flash pattern similar to her own, she will flash the male back as a sign that he should come visit her.
