The Blue-black Spider Wasp is seen here with its prey, And they are found in bare grass or soil in the Western United States. The females search for spiders, especially wolf spiders or funnel web weavers, Then they sting the spider in the belly and drag them into their nest. The female lays her eggs in the nest, and closes up the cell, Then when the eggs hatch, the larvae eat the spider. |
