Workers of the Panama Canal were dying by the thousands because of Yellow Fever. Research was funded and it was soon hypothesized that mosquitoes transmitted the disease. Efforts were made to control the mosquitoes, and soon Yellow Fever was almost eliminated from Panama and the canal was completed. |
