Malaria is a serious disease transmitted by the Anopheles mosquito. The actual cause of the disease is a single celled parasite of the family Plasmodium. There is no vaccine for malaria but treatments can be given to help reduce the risk of contracting the disease. It is found primarily in tropical and sub-tropical regions. |
