odonata
Ordonata is an order containing dragonflies and damselflies. Fossils of these insects have been found dating this order back 300 million years. Today there are 5,000 species worldwide, including 450 in North America. Both the young and the adults of this order are considered beneficial predators that destroy huge numbers of mosquitoes each yeaar.
