Freshman and Sophomore Students
Although Cornell College has no specified MBA-prep course outline, students can use their Cornell College education to maximize their potential, look good to future employers, and prepare for MBA acceptance. This is an outline of how to best use your educational experience to prepare for acceptance into an MBA program.

- Meet with your advisor and talk about your aspirations. Choose courses with your future goals in mind.
- Consider joining a Berry Center Reading Group.
- Attend Berry Center events, both on and off-campus.
- Consider participation on the Enactus team or in the Cornell Financial Group (CFG).
- Maintain good relationships with your instructors -- you may ask them for letters of recommendation in the future.
- Create your resume and cover letter. Have this checked by Career Engagement Center.
- Look for summer internship opportunities in your area of interest. You can never have too much experience! Check to see if part of your internship could be funded as a Berry Center Internship.
- Maintain good grades. Involvement is good, being over-extended is not. Participate in extra-curricular activities only to the extent that you can maintain a good GPA.

- Declare your major with the Registrar.
- With your advisor, choose courses that reflect your future goals.
- Consider joining the Berry Center Reading Group.
- Attend Berry Center events, both on and off-campus. Look into participation in relevant or interesting conferences.
- Try to gain a leadership position on the Enactus team, CFG, or another campus organization to which you belong.
- Continue to maintain good relationships with your instructors and to maintain good grades. Both are important on MBA applications!
- Attend Career Engagement Center workshops on job seeking and interview techniques. It is never too early to start preparing for the workforce.
- Look for summer internships in your area of interest. Check with the Berry Center to see if part of your internship could be funded as a Berry Center Internship. If you are an exceptional student academic and leader, apply for a Cornell Fellowship.
