Patrick Cote, Head Coach (3rd year)
Patrick Cote begins his third season as Cornell's head men's tennis coach in 2009-10.
Cote directed the Rams to a 10-20 overall record last season, posting the most dual wins in a season since 2005. Cornell went 3-6 in IIAC play and placed fifth in the league tournament. In Cote's initial season in 2008, the Rams finished 9-11 and took fourth in the IIAC.
Cote served as men's and women's assistant tennis coach at Graceland University from 2002-07. He was admissions counselor at Graceland during the 2006-07 academic year.
Cote received an associate's degree in sales and marketing at Montmorency (Laval, Quebec) College in 1993. He was head coach and tennis specialist at Boisbriand City (Quebec) from 1994-98. Cote earned a bachelor's degree in education, with an endorsement in physical education, at Graceland in 2002.
Cote was a four-year varsity letterwinner on Graceland's tennis team. A two-time national qualifier, Cote ranked eighth in the NAIA in doubles play during the 2002 season. Graceland qualified for the national tournament in three of the four years Cote played there. Cote was team captain two years.
Cote, a native of Montreal, Canada, speaks French and English and is learning Spanish.
