Cornell Alum Chum Program

One of the best ways to move the alumni association forward is to recruit our members while they are students. The Alum Chum program is a means for building those bridges with the current students.

The members of the Cornell Alumni Student Association (CASA) have already shown an interest in our alumni simply by choosing to be involved in their student organization. They are extremely helpful to the Alumni Office throughout the year and represent our student body at functions involving alumni both on and off campus. CASA students will likely be active alumni after their days at Cornell. One real benefit of joining CASA is the prospect of getting to know some of Cornell's alumni, therefore, many CASA students have signed up for the Alum Chum Program. 

At the beginning of each school year, alumni who participate in ALUM CHUM are given a name of one of our CASA members to keep in contact with over the course of the academic year. If you choose to be a "Chum," you will be expected to make several regular contacts with your assigned CASA member. These could be:

1. Job leads
2. Advice
3. News Clippings of interest
4. Notes of encouragement
5. Birthday cards

Thanks to modern technology, E-mail makes this program easy! You will gain a better understanding of the current student issues on campus as you develop your camaraderie with your chum.

Alums and Chums are recruited in the spring for the following school year.
