Cornell Welcomes RAGBRAI
On Friday, July 25, Cornell and Mount Vernon will welcome nearly 15,000 riders as they bike through Mount Vernon for the 36th Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI). Faculty and staff will greet riders—especially Cornellians—at an Alumni booth with free wrist bands. A free Internet café will be located in front of Rood House. Mount Vernon will be a Meeting Town, which means support vehicles can meet the riders, spend time in the area, and replenish whatever supplies are needed.
An Evening at Ravinia
Chicago area alumni are invited to join the Cornell College Club of Chicago for an evening of music and friends at Ravinia Park on Sunday, August 17.
Jazz Under the Stars
Greater Cornell alumni and friends are invited to join Cornell for our annual Jazz Under the Stars event at Noelridge Park in Cedar Rapids on Thursday, August 21.
C'YA Happy Hours 2008
Calling all Cornell Young Alumni! C'YA will be hosting Happy Hour events in seven major cities across the country on August 14-15.
Homecoming 2008
"A Proud Tradition, A Brilliant Future" is the theme for Cornell College Homecoming 2008, scheduled for October 10-12.
Sutliff Bridge Collapse
A section of the historic Sutliff Bridge, a favorite destination for many Cornellians, collapsed on June 13 due to rising flood waters. The Sutliff Store and Tavern sustained minor flood damage but re-opened for business just one week later. You can click here to view an article and to view photos.

Cornell visits Japan
Taking its mission "around the world," Cornell found itself in Japan recently, visiting alumni at events in Kyoto and Tokyo in recognition of the Cornell College of Iowa Japan Association's 30th Anniversary.
