Academic Advising

The goal of academic advising at Cornell College is to help students achieve their educational objectives and to benefit as fully as possible from their Cornell experience. Advising, at its best, is an instructional and personal relationship that may extend beyond graduation into a life-long friendship between advisor and advisee.

Students are assigned advisors in the fall semester of their first year. Students may easily change advisors as their academic interests change and mature.  In order to benefit from the academic advising program, students must demonstrate commitment to, and engagement in, academic study and personal initiative as well as honesty and responsibility.
